A Study on the Classification of the Gerontological Social Work Education for the Social Worker in the University

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the typology of a Korean university curriculum in gerontological social welfare. We analyzed the educational goals and contents of the gerontological social work through the analysis of textbooks. Focus group analysis and in-depth interviews were conducted from November 2016 to January 2017 for social work educators in gerontological social work and gerontological social workers. Based on the interviews, we analyzed the appropriateness of the subject. We found a difference in the appropriateness of the subject, and between the educators and social workers in the importance and application of their knowledge of gerontological social work. Finally, we typified gerontological social work curriculum for social welfare education. Based on the results, the educational and practical implications for the strengthening of the gerontological social work education for the social worker were derived.
